Book Blurb:

School. Tests. Scholarships. Goals.

Senior class overachiever Geoff Miller thought he had it all figured out. All he needed to do was make it through the next six months, graduate, and get on with his life.

College at the University of Virginia beckoned him– and he just wanted to put the last horrible four years at Heritage High School in the “done” folder.

Geoff just didn’t count on two things: Laine Phillips, and sex.

At first, his passing crush on the school princess seemed to Geoff like a distraction from a boring life in a snobby Greater Cincinnati suburb. Then one day, it turned into something more…

Six months. Not that long, right?

Book Blurb:

We weren’t supposed to be friends. We weren’t even supposed to like each other.

I’m Michael Grath. I’ll admit I was elected to Congress on my Republican family history. I was out to make a name for myself, until I met Jessie Clark, a spitfire Democrat.

She’d be my nemesis, if I could just stop flirting with her. We’ve got nothing and everything in common, and one big issue that divides us. All of this is going to land us in more than one compromising position.

So like I said, we weren’t supposed to be friends, we weren’t even supposed to like each other, and we certainly weren’t supposed to fall in love.

He has tried hard to forget her.

My Thoughts:

I love Lisa Kleypas’ The Hathaways series and although my ultimate favorite is Married by Morning, this is my second favorite. I love the steadfastness of the feelings of the characters. I also love the intensity and rawness of the emotions that Lisa Kleypas wonderfully presents in this book.

This is a story that was as much about the happy ending as it was about the journey the characters went through in order to get to that happy ending. It was a very satisfying and heartwarming read. And definitely worthy of commendations and recommendations.

Have you read this book? What are your thoughts about it? I’d love to hear from you guys.
