It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey. It’s a great opportunity for bloggers to post what books they plan to read for the week. Here are some of the books that made it to my TBR list this week.
Archangel’s Kiss (Guild Hunter #2)
by Nalini Singh
New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh returns to her world of angelic rulers, vampiric servants, and the woman thrust into their darkly seductive world…
Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux wakes from a year-long coma to find herself changed—an angel with wings the colors of midnight and dawn—but her fragile body needs time to heal before she can take flight. Her lover, the stunningly dangerous archangel, Raphael, is used to being in control—especially when it comes to the woman he considers his own. But Elena has never done well with authority.
They’ve barely begun to understand each other when Raphael receives an invitation to a ball from the archangel, Lijuan. To refuse would be a sign of fatal weakness, so Raphael must ready Elena for the flight to Beijing—and to the nightmare that awaits them there. Ancient and without conscience, Lijuan holds a power that lies with the dead. And she has organized the most perfect and most vicious of welcomes for Elena.
A Code of Love
by Jacki Delecki
Threatened by French spies, assassins, and calculating suitors, can Lady Henrietta Harcourt trust the infamous rake, Lord Cordelier Rathbourne, with her carefully guarded family secrets?
In his new, undisclosed position as Director of English Intelligence, Cord faces more peril keeping the brilliant, Harcourt family of code breakers safe than he did as undercover spy in Napoleonic France.
Cord’s passionate attraction for the indomitable Henrietta hasn’t diminished in his four years abroad, but neither has Henrietta’s memory of his libertine past.
In pursuit of the missing brother, Henrietta and Cord become entangled in a web of international intrigue, danger, and white hot passion.
I’ve missed Nalini Singh’s writing. Her last book that I’ve read was way back in June 2013, her latest for her Psy-Changeling series. And so I’m happy to be reading her wonderful prose, beautiful world-building, and amazing story-telling again. The Archangel’s Kiss is the second book of her Guild Hunter series and I’m still just in awe of her talent as a writer.
I received an eARC of A Code of Love for review as part of a book tour and with a premise like what this one I hope I would feel immersed in the plot. It’s my first time reading this author. I really enjoy being able to explore the works of new-to-me authors.
