Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition (19)

throwbackthursday

Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition is a meme hosted by Tin @ Love Saves the World and Mary @ Buried Under Romance where you get to feature historical romance novels published before October 3, 2008.

Visit Ki Pha @ Doing Some Reading and check out her pick for the week as well.

This week, I’m featuring Loretta Chase.

your scandalous ways

Your Scandalous Ways, published in May 2008

From Goodreads:

James Cordier is all blue blood and entirely dangerous. He’s a master of disguise, a brilliant thief, a first-class lover—all for King and Country—and, by gad, he’s so weary of it. His last mission is to “acquire” a packet of incriminating letters from one notorious woman. Then he can return to London and meet sweet-natured heiresses—not adventuresses and fallen women.

Francesca Bonnard has weathered heartbreak, scorn, and scandal. She’s independent, happy, and definitely fallen; and she’s learned that “gentlemen” are more trouble than they’re worth. She can also see that her wildly attractive new neighbor is bad news.

But as bad as James is, there are others far worse also searching for Francesca’s letters. And suddenly nothing is simple—especially the nearly incendiary chemistry between the two most jaded, sinful souls in Europe. And just as suddenly, risking everything may be worth the prize.

My Thoughts:

Even though I’ve only read a couple of Loretta Chase books, I’ve loved every single one of them so I wouldn’t doubt that she was able to deliver in this one. Again, I haven’t read this one yet but I’m already getting the feeling that James and Francesca are going to be butting heads and hearts in this book. They sound like such strong characters already.

Have you read this book? What are your thoughts about it? I’d love to hear from you guys.

  1. Love your choice for the week. I am like you I have read her other books and enjoyed them quite a bit. This book is at the top of my TBR and at my local library so maybe I will try this one out soon. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are having a great week.

    1. Thanks for dropping by Renee! Although to be honest, I’m looking forward more to her upcoming release LOL Vixen in Velvet has been delayed for many months now so I’m really excited about that one. Hehe 🙂

  2. I love Loretta Chase, but, I hate to say it, I didn’t like this one. I think I actually DNF’d it about halfway through…which shocked me because of my devotion to LC. I still have my copy lying around somewhere so I hope to get back to it and see if it looks any different after a few years. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Aww, that’s sad to hear. I don’t know if I will ever get to reading this one this year but I hope you’ll review it if ever you decide to pick it up again. 🙂

I haven’t read this particular book by Chase because I only discovered her recently, but I’m planning to read through her backlist this summer. ^_^
