A pact with her best friends had Sarah Daley promising to make time for love after a long period of retreating from relationships. But before she embarked on finding her happily-ever-after, she wanted to do something she’d never done before–experience a short, hot fling. And the hunky Jeffrey Carmichael, grandson of the elderly lady who’d hired her as a private nurse, was the only guy who attracted her for that purpose.
Jeffrey Carmichael had long discovered that flings, not commitment, were what worked best for him. After being dumped by an ex-fiancée shortly after the most devastating period of his life, he’d decided that serious commitment wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. So when he was presented with an opportunity to start a casual relationship with his grandmother’s fun and pretty nurse, he simply couldn’t resist.
When love entered uninvited, could they admit to wanting something more than temporary? And when Jeff couldn’t avoid welcoming his ex-fiancée back into his life, could Sarah push aside her ghosts of the past and learn to trust again?.

At 23, Morgan is a little behind other women her age when it comes to dating and relationships. More specifically, she’s a virgin. Dating wasn’t a priority in high school and college, but now that Morgan has a job and her own apartment, she’s ready to jump back into the dating scene.
When Morgan’s friends at work inform her that most men expect sex on the third date, she panics. She’s convinced her lack of experience will be a total turn-off for guys and make for a really awkward third date. Her friends tell her to just do it with a random guy to get it over with, but Morgan isn’t sure that’s what she wants.
When she meets a guy she’s certain is her dream man, she’s ready to lose it on their third date. But doing so isn’t as easy as she thought. And then there’s the fact that she can’t get another guy out of her head.

The Write On review-a-thon is a monthly event created and hosted by Brianna at The Book Vixen. It’s 2 days dedicated to getting reviews done, whether you have one review to write or 30+. This edition of the review-a-thon takes place all day Friday, June 27th and Saturday, June 28th. Let’s get those reviews done!
I heard of this event from Anna @ Herding Cats & Burning Soup and I told myself that I am totally going to join this one. I have fallen way behind schedule on some of my reviews and this sounds like a great opportunity to catch up on writing.
So for this month’s Review-a-thon, I’m going to try and finish writing the reviews for the following books:
- What A Bride Wants by Sarah Mayberry
- On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
- We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
- Once Upon A Wager by Julie LeMense
- What A Reckless Rogue Needs by Vicky Dreiling
- The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
- The Chocolate Temptation by Laura Florand
- The City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
- The Secrets of A Scoundrel by Gaelen Foley
- Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare
- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Here’s hoping I get all these done by the 28th.
Technically I only finished two out of the 6 reviews (in green text) above during the 2-day window of the event. But the exercise was really stimulating that I finished three more, thus the 6 reviews in total. Yay! I hope I can maintain this momentum so I can finish writing the reviews for all the books in this list.
This was such a great experience. I’m looking forward to next month’s schedule, with both dates falling on a weekend. Double yay!
I now only have to schedule when these 6 reviews are going to go live. Until next time…
Thirsty Thursday is a weekly feature, hosted by Nikki & Keira @ Lazy Book Lovers, where we discuss all things swoon-worthy: from quotes, book covers, book boyfriends, and even that worth-the-wait book kiss.
Book: The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Swoon Quality: Bravery, Devotion
Why: I love that he’s willing to fight for a cause that he believes in. But at the same time, I also love that he recognizes the depth of his feelings for Kestrel and fights hard for that too. How he struggles to find the balance between these two was fascinating to read because the conflict is within himself, more than anything.
Note: I am terrible at casting book characters so I borrowed this casting of actor Matt Latner as Arin from Tee @ YA Crush.
That’s it for me for this week’s edition. Who or what are you featuring this Thirsty Thursday?
Don’t forget to check out Nikki’s and Keira’s picks are this week here. My good friend Lorn @ Pakwanstripes is also doing this feature. Check out her book boyfriend pick here.
