Book Blogger Hop (7): Will I ever finish my TBR list?

book blogger hop

Book Blogger Hop is hosted @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. It’s a chance to follow other blogs, learn more bookish things, and add followers to your own blogs. It runs for a whole week starting on a Friday and ends on a Thursday.

This week’s question:

Do you think you will ever read every book in your TBR stack?

I would love it if I could read every book in my TBR stack. And I suppose in a way this is not at all impossible. Nevertheless, it will be a tough task because almost every day I seem to find a book (or a couple or so) that I want to add to that ever growing list.

How about you guys? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Book Blogger Hop (6): Is your blog only about book-related matters?

book blogger hop

Book Blogger Hop is hosted @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. It’s a chance to follow other blogs, learn more bookish things, and add followers to your own blogs. It runs for a whole week starting on a Friday and ends on a Thursday.

This week’s question:

Are you a book blogger purist? Do you only have book-related posts or do you review/post on anything and everything that catches your eye?

When I decided to start Girl meets Books, I knew I really wanted a blog dedicated to bookish things. This is also easier for me to do since I have another blog where I post everything and anything that interests me. Sadly, I don’t get to update that other blog as often as I do Girl meets Books. But I’m planning to change that this year. I think I was just trying to get a hang of blogging regularly for Girl meets Books since I just started late last year and since I’m starting to get into the groove, so to speak, of managing my schedule, I plan to keep both blogs up-to-date.

How about you guys? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Book Blogger Hop (5): Keeping Track of all the Holiday blog hops w/ giveaways

Book Blogger Hop is hosted @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. It’s a chance to follow other blogs, learn more bookish things, and add followers to your own blogs. It runs for a whole week starting on a Friday and ends on a Thursday.

This week’s question:

During the holidays, there were hundreds of blog hops with giveaways and prizes. how did you keep track of what, if anything, you won?

To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t able to keep proper tabs on all the blog hop contests that I’ve joined. In the beginning, I tried it by not closing the window tab of the website on my phone. But that did not end so well when I forgot my plan and closed all the tabs. So basically what happened was that I was able to ‘remember’ (I’m using the word loosely here) those that I joined in towards the end of the season. But these were lessons learned and I hope I’ll do a better job during the next holiday season.

I’m still ecstatic because I was able to participate in a blog hop as a blog host of Mary @ Buried Under Romance for her Mary’s Merry Christmas and Birthday Giveaway Hop. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to join in more this year. (So I hope you guys can send an invitation my way if ever you’re planning to do blog hops with giveaways and prizes. I’m more than happy to host and contribute.)

I’ve also won a couple of awesome stuff over the Holidays and I’d like to take this opportunity to send a shout-out to the very generous sponsors of these giveaways.

Book Blogger Hop (4): Books I’m looking forward to reading in 2014

Book Blogger Hop is hosted @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. It’s a chance to follow other blogs, learn more bookish things, and add followers to your own blogs. It runs for a whole week starting on a Friday and ends on a Thursday.

This week’s question:

What books are you looking forward to reading in 2014?

This is so easy and yet so difficult at the same time: easy because I can totally list all the books I want to read and difficult because this would be a really, really long post if that happens. So to compromise, I just listed my top picks for this.

17667561 17832864 Shield-of-Winter-by-Nalini-Singh275x410 17183419 15839984 8755785 179017699627755 18081809 18359904 15749186 1768432317343236

The Shadow Throne - Jennifer Nielsen
The Chocolate Temptation - Laura Florand
Shield of Winter - Nalini Singh
It Felt Like A Kiss - Sarra Manning
Cruel Beauty - Rosamund Hodge
City of Heavenly Fire - Cassandra Clare
Forged by Desire - Bec McMaster
Isla and the Happily Ever After - Stephanie Perkins
Landline - Rainbow Rowell
Just One Night - Lauren Layne
To All The Boys I've Loved Before - Jenny Han
The Break-up Artist - Philip Siegel
The Mistress Rebellion - Courtney Milan

There you go. That’s a lot but for me that’s only the tip of my reading list iceberg. I’m excited about 2014 as there are lots of amazing books scheduled for release.

Happy Holidays everyone!

This week’s question: What is your favorite book set around Christmas time?

My answer: A Kiss for Midwinter by Courtney Milan

16116470

Here’s the blurb from Goodreads:

Miss Lydia Charingford is always cheerful, and never more so than at Christmas time. But no matter how hard she smiles, she can’t forget the youthful mistake that could have ruined her reputation. Even though the worst of her indiscretion was kept secret, one other person knows the truth of those dark days: the sarcastic Doctor Jonas Grantham. She wants nothing to do with him…or the butterflies that take flight in her stomach every time he looks her way.

Jonas Grantham has a secret, too: He’s been in love with Lydia for more than a year. This winter, he’s determined to conquer her dislike and win her for his own. It all starts with a wager and a kiss…

This novella packs a punch. A wonderful, intriguing, and utterly heart-wrenching punch. I recently won an unabridged audio copy of this book and it was amazing to listen to this story as well. It really doesn’t matter what medium you consume this work with, be it with an actual printed copy, an e-book, or an audio book, this great love story, because it is a great love story, will still clamp on your heart, twist it for good measure, and then give you the most heartwarming relief and joy. For me, it really is one of those rare perfect books I can’t believe were written with words that I know and yet only Courtney Milan can weave those words together and create such a compelling story.

This week’s question: What books do you want for Christmas?

Oh, this could be a long list. But in the interest of time and space (hehe), I’ve narrowed my picks to just three.

Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay

The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan

Crash Into You by Katie McGarry

This week’s question: What book would you recommend for a Christmas present?

Since it’s the holiday seasons, I’d go for books with Christmas themes. And since I love romance novels, I’d recommend these short but sweet novellas as Christmas presents.
