I’m going to do my first post of Cover Love with a genre that is really close to my heart. I love reading Historical Romances. It’s one of my go-to genres and a lot of my favorite authors are writers in this genre. When it comes to the covers, it can be said that the book covers of historical romance novels have evolved a great deal. Lately, what I’m loving about their covers are the vibrant colors and the dresses: the lovely, beautiful dresses that the heroines on the cover are always wearing. But then there comes a time when one among many would standout in its uniqueness. Last year, it had been the cover for Sarah MacLean’s Never Judge A Lady by Her Cover.
Now, it’s Julie Anne Long’s THE LEGEND OF LYON REDMOND!
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this cover…
And now let me count the ways:

She might look like an angel…
The moment orphaned American heiress Titania “Tansy” Danforth arrives on English shores she cuts a swath through Sussex, enslaving hearts and stealing beaux. She knows she’s destined for a spectacular titled marriage—but the only man who fascinates her couldn’t be more infamous…or less interested.
…but it takes a devil to know one…
A hardened veteran of war, inveterate rogue Ian Eversea keeps women enthralled, his heart guarded and his options open: why should he succumb to the shackles of marriage when devastating good looks and Eversea charm make seduction so easy?
…and Heaven has never been hotter.
When Ian is forced to call her on her game, he never dreams the unmasked Tansy—vulnerable, brave, achingly sensual—will tempt him beyond endurance. And fight as he will, this notorious bachelor who stood down enemies on a battlefield might finally surrender his heart…and be brought to his knees by love.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the gals at The Broke and the Bookish. For this week’s list: 2014 Releases I’m Dying to Read.
#10 (No cover and title yet) Night Prince #3 by Jeaniene Frost – I want to know how Vlad will get his HEA. The second book ended in a pretty good place and I can’t wait to read the home stretch.
#9 Between the Devil and Ian Eversea by Julie Anne Long – I will always want more Pennyroyal Green books from Julie Anne Long until we get to the book about Lyon and Olivia.
#8 The Shadow Throne by Jennifer Nielsen – I can’t wait to discover what kind of man and leader Jaron will becoming and what kind of journey he takes to get to that point.
#7 Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins – More Stephanie Perkins, please. I adored Lola and the Boy Next Door and I can’t wait to read the next book.
#6 Landline by Rainbow Rowell – Rainbow Rowell should release a book every week. Just saying.
#5 City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare – This is the ending to a series that I just know would be grand and magnificent. After five books, I’m ready but at the same time I’m not ready for this series to end.
#4 Forged by Desire by Bec McMaster – I loved My Lady Quicksilver and after finding out who the next book will be featuring, I’m soooo excited.
#3 The Chocolate Temptation by Laura Florand – Everybody should read Laura Florand. Seriously. 🙂 And I can’t believe she will release a new book in January just after she released The Chocolate Heart last month. Yay for more books.
#2 (No title and cover yet) Rules of Scoundres #4 – Chase’s book by Sarah MacLean – Even though I haven’t read No Good Duke Goes Unpunished (I’m still waiting for my copy to arrive), I just know this is one of those books that I’ll be eagerly anticipating for next year.
#1 Shield of Winter by Nalini Singh – OMG. I need more Psy-Changeling books. I know that the series will be winding up soon, this being the second to the last, I think. But Nalini Singh’s prose is really special. And when I’m not reading her book, I’m constantly missing her writing.
Time really passes so slow when you’re waiting for something so good. I can’t wait to have these books in my hands. 2014 will rock! I just know it.

It’s Monday! What are you reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey. It’s a great opportunity for bloggers to post what books they plan to read for the week.
Here’s my list. I’m not sure if I can finish it within this week but I’ll try (*fingers crossed*).
The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher
Here’s the blurb from Goodreads:
Olivia Kaspen has just discovered that her ex-boyfriend, Caleb Drake, has lost his memory. With an already lousy reputation for taking advantage of situations, Olivia must decide how far she is willing to go to get Caleb back. Wrestling to keep her true identity and their sordid past under wraps, Olivia’s greatest obstacle is Caleb’s wicked, new girlfriend; Leah Smith. It is a race to the finish as these two vipers engage in a vicious tug of war to possess a man who no longer remembers them. But, soon enough Olivia must face the consequences of her lies, and in the process discover that sometimes love falls short of redemption.
I just started this book and I am finding myself quite enjoying it. The thing that drew me first to this book was the interesting premise. Ex-boyfriend has amnesia so girl decides to take advantage. It sounds a little wrong but there’s a lot of potential for plot development and I am curious as to where the author plans to take this story.
Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
Here’s the blurb from Goodreads:
“Hi, I’m the guy who reads your e-mail, and also, I love you . . . ”
Beth Fremont and Jennifer Scribner-Snyder know that somebody is monitoring their work e-mail. (Everybody in the newsroom knows. It’s company policy.) But they can’t quite bring themselves to take it seriously. They go on sending each other endless and endlessly hilarious e-mails, discussing every aspect of their personal lives.
Meanwhile, Lincoln O’Neill can’t believe this is his job now- reading other people’s e-mail. When he applied to be “internet security officer,” he pictured himself building firewalls and crushing hackers- not writing up a report every time a sports reporter forwards a dirty joke.
When Lincoln comes across Beth’s and Jennifer’s messages, he knows he should turn them in. But he can’t help being entertained-and captivated-by their stories.
By the time Lincoln realizes he’s falling for Beth, it’s way too late to introduce himself.
What would he say . . . ?
I’ve read Eleanor & Park and Fangirl but sadly I haven’t read Rainbow Rowell’s debut novel yet. I think it’s high-time that I do (I hope).
It Happened One Midnight by Julie Anne Long
Here’s the blurb from Goodreads:
More than one beautiful woman’s hopes have been dashed on the rocky shoals of Jonathan Redmond’s heart. With his riveting good looks and Redmond wealth and power, the world is his oyster—until an ultimatum from his father and a chilling gypsy prophesy send him hurtling headlong toward a fate he’ll do anything to avoid: matrimony.
Intoxicating, elusive Thomasina de Ballesteros has the bloods of London at her feet. But none of them knows the real Tommy—the one with a shocking pedigree, a few too many secrets, and a healthy scorn for rakes like Jonathan.
She is everything Jonathan never wanted. But on one fateful midnight, he’s drawn into Tommy’s world of risk, danger…and a desire he’d never dreamed possible. And suddenly he’s re-thinking everything…including the possibility that succumbing to prophesy might just mean surrendering to love.
I’ve only read three of Julie Anne Long’s books, all from her Pennyroyal Green Series, and so far I’ve enjoyed them. What I Did For a Duke remains one of my favorite historical romances. So I wanted to continue on with the series while waiting for the much-awaited pinnacle of the series which I surmise would be Lyon’s and Olivia’s story. So in the meantime, I’ll read and enjoy Jonathan’s and Tommy’s story.
What are you guys reading this week? I would love to hear your selections.
