The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @
Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~. It’s a chance to share News; a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Last Week on the blog
I had a blog scare earlier this week because WordPress suddenly suspended my blog with no advance notice at all. One minute I was composing a post and the next I have this two or three-sentence paragraph on my dashboard telling me Girl meets Books was no longer available.
Of course my first reaction was to panic. I had a post scheduled for a tour on that day, which I already published, but since the site was suspended, readers won’t be able to access it. My next reaction was frustration. I had no idea why they suspended my blog in the first place. When I checked their Terms of Service, I believed I did not violate any of it at all. I gave it 24 hours after I submitted my error report and when that flew by I was really freaking out already and was contemplating on whether I should choose another platform, how I was going to export all my content, and how much I loved my current blog and the time and effort I had already poured out to making it look and feel like it did at present.
Thankfully, I received a reply from WordPress maybe about 34 or 36 hours after I sent the error report and they explained how it was an error made by their anti-spam program. When I saw my blog and was able to post again, to say that I was relieved would have been an understatement. Girl meets Books is back and I’m so happy! ^__^

I had some fears of my own when Google when to Google+, forbidding me to go to Google+ but forcing me to do it lol ! The fact that you can’t join any actual living person and explain yourself/defend yourself when you have a problem is more stress. Have a great week 😉

I know how that feels. I just had to wait it out and I’m thankful that wordpress did follow through with their feedback. 🙂

I was actually considering self hosting but I don’t know where to even begin. I’m not tech savvy and I love my current layout and design…

Not sure if my prev comment posted as my page froze… How annoying, I can image the panic you had with a tour post scheduled, I’m so nervous about getting those right in any event! Glad you got it all sorted.

I really try very hard so that I fulfill my part for all the blog tours I signed up for. For the first few days after my suspension was lifted, I was so paranoid that my blog would get suspended for no reason again. T__T
