Last Week on the blog

I’m loving my weekly workouts at Plana Forma. It’s a full one hour work out but I feel really good afterwards, like I’ve accomplished something good. It’s great trying to stay fit and healthy.

To all who’s celebrating, belated Happy Thanksgiving! Chestnuts are filling my tummy this week. Got to have me some of those before they’re gone again. We’re starting on our holiday shopping. It’s a little hard budgeting everything but I know we can do it.

I’ve got one of my most prized eARCs last week. I still can’t believe I got approved on Netgalley for THE WINNER’S CRIME! I requested it initially without any real hope of getting approved. I just thought I’d try. But then I got approved so yay!!!

Join the Christmas Wonder Giveaway Hop for the whole month of December. Check out my post on Monday and see what I’m looking forward to this holiday season and a couple of books I have added to my Christmas wishlist, plus giveaways!

If you have time, check out my other blog, Crack-tastic Confessions.

The one. The only. Leo Maddox.

Leo’s cocky. He’s mean. He’s gorgeous. He’s never learned the meaning of the word no. He’s the twenty-one-year-old, billionaire grandson of a hotel mogul. He has vacation homes he’s never been to and cars he doesn’t drive. Women. Fashion. Alcohol. There’s nothing he can’t get. Well…almost nothing.

He can’t have her. The girl he loves. The girl he’s loved his entire life. She hates him. Until one morning when Leo wakes up and decides enough is enough. He’s going to get the only girl he’s ever wanted. So what if she has a new boyfriend. So what if she loathes his very existence. Clara belongs with him and he’s going to prove it to her by winning her heart.

*This New Adult Romance is told entirely from Leo Maddox’s POV. It can be read before, after, or in place of Sarah Darlington’s stand alone novel He Belongs With Me. Recommended for readers 18+ due to strong language and sexy scenes.

That hair. That fucking hair. It was everywhere, always, and I wanted to tangle my fingers in those dark curls and pull. And that would be fine if she wasn’t my apprentice.

Andy Asani was nothing like I expected. She was exotic and scary-brilliant, and the slightest murmur from those lips sent hot, hungry lust swirling through my veins. Outside my siblings, she was the only person I could name who shared my obsession with preserving Boston’s crumbling buildings.

Andy

My wants were few: good eats, tall boots, hot yoga, interesting work. One incredibly hot architect with the most expressive hazel eyes I ever encountered and entirely too much talent in and out of the bedroom wasn’t part of the original plan. Apparently he was part of the package.

Wine was my rabbi and vodka was my therapist, and I needed plenty of both to survive my apprenticeship. Especially with Patrick Walsh leaving love notes in the form of bite marks all over my body.

“Waiting On” Wednesday (55): MAI TAI’D UP by Alice Clayton

New WoW

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights eagerly anticipated upcoming releases.

This week’s spotlight is on:

mai tai'd upMAI TAI’D UP (Cocktail #4)

by Alice Clayton

Release Date: December 2, 2014

Looking for the perfect mix of smart, sexy, and sassy? Mai Tai’d Up continues New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Cocktail series, which began with Wallbanger and continued with Rusty Nailed and Screwdrivered.

The gossip mill in the seaside community of Monterey is churning about Chloe Patterson, the newcomer who is starting a sanctuary for rescued pit bulls. It’s rumored that she’s a former beauty queen (true) who ditched her fiancé the morning of their wedding (also true). And that while she’s not looking for a new man, the good-looking local veterinarian has his eye on her. Absolutely, positively true.

When Lucas Campbell isn’t at the family veterinary clinic, he’s paddle boarding in Monterey Bay. Recently single, he’s definitely not in the market for a new relationship, but he still can’t resist taking a second, third, and fourth look at the recent arrival of Miss Golden State.

Neither Lucas nor Chloe has any interest in being tied down. Being tied up, however—now there’s a thought. But are a few Mai Tais, a moonlit night, and the music of Frank Sinatra enough to allow them both to forget their past? Let’s hope Ol’ Blue Eyes knows what he’s doing.

Mix one part tiki, one part kinky, and a splash of old black magic matchmaking, and it’s time to be . . . Mai Tai’d Up.

Top Ten Tuesday (39): Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

d32cf-toptentuesday2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the gals at The Broke and the Bookish

So I decided to split my list to two with the first part consisting of new releases and the second part with those that have already been released and I’m dying to dive into.

Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR…

 once upon a rose
ONCE UPON A ROSE by Laura Florand. This has been a long time coming but I fully trust Laura Florand to bring her A-game every time so I didn’t mind the waiting.

the librarian principle
THE LIBRARIAN PRINCIPLE by Helena Hunting. The premise for this one is so cute, funny, and super sexy so I can’t wait to read this.

say yes to the marquess
SAY YES TO THE MARQUESS by Tessa Dare. More Tessa Dare is always good. I can’t wait for this second book in her newest series. I love the blurb and the fact that it’s from the POV of the hero.

i'll meet you there
I’LL MEET YOU THERE by Heather Demetrios. This will be my first from this author and I can’t wait. I love small town settings in books. The story sounds so promising.

one of the guys
ONE OF THE GUYS by Lisa Aldin. Oh this book has all these possibilities. I can’t wait to find out how it will all turn out.

Sunday Post (39)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @
Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~. It’s a chance to share News; a post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Last Week on the blog

Okay, so remember that balance I was talking about last week, totally missed it, like by a mile. Let’s just say I have poor self-control when it comes to books I want to read so yeah, there’s like a 1:5 ratio of the materials I read for my school paper and the books I read last week. Must focus!

In other news (lol), I just saw Mockingjay Part I and while I wasn’t wowed by it, it was still a very nicely put together film and Jennifer Lawrence just killed me with her scenes. That it ends somewhere in the middle of the book (I think) made me want to re-read Mockingjay again. I want to re-live my PEETA Feels, you guys!
