Top Ten of 2014: Best Book Covers of 2014

Top Ten of 2014: A Week of Looking Back is a year-end meme hosted by Jamie @ Two Chicks On Books, Rachel @ Fiktshun, Mindy @ Magical Urban Fantasy Reads, and Nancy @ Tales of a Ravenous Reader. 

It’s Week #2 and we’re featuring the Best Book Covers of 2014. I guess I’m the type of reader who looks at the book cover and then immediately switches to the back cover to look at the blurb and then goes back to appreciate the book cover again. I seldom depend on the book covers to decide which books I read but I do appreciate a lovely cover.

 

A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU by Claudia Gray. Easily one of the best this year. I love the duality of the image, the colors, and how it just echoes the theme of the story. (My review)

 

BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE by Maggie Stiefvater. Granted, I’m only at Book 2, The Dream Thieves, but I love this cover already. It’s whimsical, colorful, and a bit magical. Don’t you think so too?

CRUEL BEAUTY by Rosamund Hodge. I haven’t read this one yet though I have it on my bookshelf. I started it but somehow it wasn’t working for me so I decided to postpone on reading this one. But the cover is something that I’ve really loved and appreciated since I first saw it. Isn’t it gorgeous?

 

THE WAGER by Lily Maxton. I’ve read a lot of historical romances but this has got to be one of the best covers I’ve seen in the genre. There’s just something sweet and incredibly endearing with this quiet moment. (My review)

 

RECLAIMING THE SAND by A. Meredith Walters. I just love this cover so much and when I read the blurb, I just felt that melancholic, almost surreal feeling.

 

FORGED BY DESIRE by Bec McMaster. I love me some Steampunk covers and this one’s amazing. (My review)

 

UNHINGED by A. G. Howard. I feel like I would appreciate this cover all the more if I’ve read the series already. But I haven’t at this point. However, I still love this cover with its colors and somewhat weird beauty.

 

DEVIL’S GAME by Joanna Wylde. What’s not to love about this cover? There’s the color, the jacket, the profile, the arm! (My Review)

 

 

CRESS by Marissa Meyer. The book covers of this series have been pretty awesome. I haven’t read any of the books yet but I have Cinder on my shelf so I hope to get to this series soon.

 

CRASH INTO YOU by Katie McGarry. I love this cover! The car! The clothes! The embrace and tangled limbs! The contentment that is oozing from them.. Aww. (My Review)
